Brentwood, TN, May 14, 2024 – Vitality Living, a leading senior living company operating 30 communities across the southeastern United States, is thrilled to announce its recognition as a recipient of the esteemed Argentum Best of Best Award. The award, bestowed by Argentum, the largest national association exclusively dedicated to senior living communities, acknowledges Vitality Living’s outstanding achievement in enhancing resident safety through proactive fall reduction.

Vitality Living’s winning program, “Enhancing Resident Safety through Proactive Fall Reduction,” addresses a critical challenge in memory care neighborhoods: overnight falls among residents. These incidents not only impact resident well-being but also staff retention and overall occupancy rates.

To tackle this challenge head-on, Vitality Living partnered with EyeWatch LIVE™ to implement a tailored solution. This innovative program utilizes AI-enabled cameras discreetly installed in designated areas to continuously monitor residents. Real-time alerts are sent to a nursing-staffed Monitoring Center, where trained agents assess residents’ needs and coordinate on-site assistance when necessary.

Why It Matters:

Falls and related incidents pose ongoing challenges in memory care communities, particularly during overnight shifts when staffing can be limited. With EyeWatch LIVE™, Vitality Living extends its staff capabilities to provide timely support and interventions. Since implementing the program, Vitality Living has seen a remarkable reduction in falls and enhanced resident safety.

Innovation in Action:

Vitality Living’s program stands out for its proactive and real-time intervention approach. By combining AI technology with human intervention, the company minimizes false alerts and empowers staff to optimize overnight care with minimal training. This innovative solution not only enhances resident safety but also streamlines staff workflows, leading to improved resident satisfaction and retention.

Proven Results:

Since integrating EyeWatch LIVE™, Vitality Living has seen impressive results. With over 4,000 interventions made, the fall rate across those interventions is less than 2%. Overall, overnight falls have decreased by over 60%. The staff response time averages an impressive 2 minutes and 48 seconds, well below the goal of 5 minutes. Additionally, the community has gained new residents as a result of this technology.
